When my games start to get a lil frame lag in the not too distant future. . i will pass my rig on to a friend of mine that has the “knowledge” you speak of, to OC.
For the time being, its doin its job + more
yh nice pc and i wouldn’t mind tha g19 or g5 or for that matter that raptor but if you have got all this money to throw at the machine why dont you go for abit of eyefinity or even CF x and i assume you haven’t OC as you have got the stock cpu fan so yh maybe develop knowledge before throwing money at performance parts. i have same cpu and same mobo however ocz reaper RAM with large heat sinks for OC but yh good build
great rig, heres the one i have brought for xmas, its coming in about a week:
-amd phenom 2 965
-msi 790fx motherboard
-4gb ddr3 1333mhz ram
-and my favoriet thing ati 5970!
-1tb hdd
and i think thats it, im keeping my psu, case ect from the old pc , well i will post my own vids of it later
Phenom II X4 965 is cheaper than i7, if you want a gaming rig. . . . you can go with Phenom II X4 965 (Revision 3, or C3) and the money you save . . . you can use it to buy a better GPU. . . . . I personally went with Phenom and ATI 5870. . . . .
@drjakson1
yea, well im getting me a asus laptop with a core i7 for something on the go and to game on, but for home im getting a desktop with a amd phenom II x4 965, ati radeon 5850, 8gb ddr3, 1tb hdd, and a asus motherboard.
it actually runs better in most benchmarks lol, this is the first l3 cache processor from amd made for overclocking to the next level like the i7, personally for a processor like this which can easily acheve 4ghz on air! and is ALOT cheaper than the similar i7 its worth getting

December 9th, 2009 at 6:09 pm

December 9th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
it will be better to buy a 6gb ddr3 1600 mhz

aslong as you psu can cope with it it will be fine
December 9th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
ok so it wont have any affect on the power for exapmle in games or anything?
December 9th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
aslong as your board can support the vlotage and most boards will bios update to support am3
December 9th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
which in your opinion would be better?
i5-750
or
Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition
theyre both about the same price
December 9th, 2009 at 11:29 pm
does this CPU work with a AM2+ mainboard?
will it have any affect on the power?
December 9th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
It doesn’t matter if it’s Intel or AMD when choosing the GPUs.
December 10th, 2009 at 12:27 am
yeah. .
ATi/AMD a lot cheaper
nVIDIA/INTEL too expensive n their performance not too impress for me
December 10th, 2009 at 1:21 am
lol

@dannijabara
cool thanks man.
December 10th, 2009 at 4:54 am
Gaming . . the 965 at stock speeds is a little faster.
overclocked it pulls past the 920 overclocked from the benchmarks i have seen.
the 965 Black Edition was designed to be overclocked. But still runs phenomenally @ stock speeds.
Depends wat GPU u got/get. If u have an Nvidea card go for i7. . ATI go for the 965
December 10th, 2009 at 5:05 am
do you think this processor can keep up with a core i7 720, cuz if it can than i might get this processor.
December 10th, 2009 at 5:19 am
I’ve ran 9. 10’s and they get worse performance than the beta 9. 11’s. I currently run the 9. 11b’s, other than that I’m getting stomped all over X(

Man ur system should munch Dragon Rising.
