My Gaming Keyboard and Mouse

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

This is an updated video due to the fact that people were complaining about the poor quality of the other video. This is my Razer Lachesis Gaming mouse ($80), Microsoft / Razer Reclusa Gaming keyboard ($54), and my rocketfish Gaming mouse pad ($19.99). As I stated earlier, I will be doing reviews on these products eventually

Keyboard and mouse going nuts, what do I do?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Recently I replaced a Logitech G19 keyboard and MX Revolution mouse I had broken by spilling liquid on them. First I replaced the mouse with a MS Sidewinder. I installed the mouse and drivers with no problem. While waiting for my replacement keyboard I used a Dell keyboard with no problems. Then a few days later I replaced the keyboard with a Saitek Eclipse keyboard and uninstalled the G19 drivers (the Saitek did not come iwth and does not have proprietary divers).

Now here’s the completely bizarre part: Every once and awhile the keyboard goes crazy and starts re-typing the LAST thing I had written with the temporary Dell – KEYSTROKES AND ALL. Like I will be on Yahoo and it will start populating the search box with what I last typed with the Dell, including backspaces and all. Simultaneously, the wireless Sidewinder will lock up the L1 button so that if I bring my cursor over anything it will think I double clicked and will open whatever the xurosr hovers over.

It’s like having a ghost in my computer. Like I said, I had no problems with the Dell keyboard yet now the last thing I typed on it keeps getting involuntarily typed and my mouse goes haywire. Is there a way to clear those keystrokes from the memory. Do I possible have a virus that Avast is not catching?

Best Gaming Mouse, Keyboard, Headphones, Gamepad, Mousepad, Speakers?

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Looking for the best gaming machine, the cost is not a problem. My whole life has been devoted to the use of substandard equipment for all, whether fishing, games, sports, etc and finally can afford to treat myself to the best. I have spent two weeks searching around the web from time to time and have not been satisfied with any of my potential decisions. Here is a list of my possible purchases, please tell me if you know of something better. I play both MMO and FPS and want a configuration that works for both.
Hierarchy of needs: reliability / quality, functionality, ease of use.
Factors of importance: price ($ 50 mousepad? Maybe, but mousepad $ 150? No, thanks) and looks (if I'd be ashamed every time I looked, I'm good).
  Mouse – Razer Mamba

  Keyboard – Logitech G19

  Gamepad – Wolf King Warrior

  Mousepad – SteelSeries 9HD

Headphones – 100% lost on this issue. I looked and looked and just end up more lost. Prices in this element is a factor I have seen in the headphones of several thousand dollars. I wear glasses (without skullcrushers, please), but prefer the headphones that cover the entire ear. Two things are important to me, the ability to say that the direction of a sound and comes with a headset microphone to ASSISTANT (ie without clip-on microphones).
Speakers – The same idea as headphones, completely lost. This is the least important issue, as I plan to spend 80% or more of my time with headphones. I sound that is somewhere between film quality and quality of music-mixing/editing.
